Diabetes Management should include all of the following:

  • Education
  • Physical Activity
  • Nutrition
  • Weight Management
  • Medication to maintain controlled glucose (sugar) levels
  • Lifestyle Management
  • Blood Pressure control

Appointments will be scheduled every 3 months to monitor the above with blood work and urine done prior to appointment. Expect a foot exam and cholesterol check once per year usually occurring in the summer months. An eye exam should be done yearly to examine the health of the diabetic eye ( this is covered yearly by Ministry of Health for Diabetics )
